Mary Ellen Bates

Mary Ellen is the owner of Bates Information Services, providing strategic business research to business professionals and special librarians, and training and consulting services to the information industry. She is a prolific writer and speaker, having keynoted at conferences around the world and written six books and innumerable articles on the information industry. She is a regular columnist for ONLINE magazine. She received her MLS from the University of California, Berkeley, and worked in special libraries for over a decade before starting her own company in 1991. She publishes two free monthly e-newsletters (see www.BatesInfo.com) and she blogs at Librarian Of Fortune. She serves on the board of directors of SLA.

Stacy Bruss
Reference Librarian, National Institute of Standards and Technology
Stacy Bruss is a reference librarian at the National Institute of Standards and Technology Research Library. Since  joining the Library in March 2009, she has served as the library's liaison to the Chemical Science and Technology and Building and Fire Research Laboratories and as a member of the First Point of Contact program, answering in-depth and ready reference questions for customers throughout the agency.

Ann Cullen
Curriculum Services Specialist, Baker Library, Harvard Business School Special Libraries Association; Academy of Management
As Curriculum Services Specialist, Ann works directly with faculty in Harvard Business School's MBA program to incorporate an understanding and use of business research resources into the course curriculum. This position builds on Ann's previous experience and knowledge of HBS in her role for four years as Baker's Financial Librarian. Ann has worked in both the private and public sector as an educator, researcher and information professional. Previous positions were with Columbia University, Credit Suisse First Boston, Chase Manhattan Bank, the American Management Association, Warburg Pincus and Goldman Sachs. In addition to her full-time job, she teaches a course in Business Research at Simmons Graduate School of Library and Information Science. Tamas Doszkocs Ph.D.

Dr. Doszkocs is a Computer Scientist in the Specialized Information Services Division of the National Library of Medicine. His R & D interests focus on natural language processing, information retrieval and Web technologies. He is the author of numerous scholarly articles and a frequent speaker at information industry conferences.

Laura Gordon-Murnane

Laura Gordon-Murnane is currently employed at BNA as their intranet web master.  She has been with BNA for over ten years.  Laura earned her MLS degree from the University of Maryland.  Library Journal named her as one of their Movers and Shakers for 2005 and she has published many articles for Searcher and Online.

Ran is the author of The Extreme Searcher's Internet Handbook, The Traveler's Web, The Extreme Searcher's Guide to Web Search Engines, and Yahoo! to the Max. He is also a frequent contributor and columnist for professional publications. Through his company, Online Strategies, Ran creates and presents courses on using the Web for professional associations, governments, NGO's, companies, schools, and businesses in the U.S. and abroad. Ran has held management and training positions with DIALOG and Knight-Ridder Information Services, and has been a reference librarian at MIT, and the University of Pennsylvania. He is currently an adjunct faculty member for Catholic University's School of Library and Information Science, Lesley University's Technology in Education Program, and Johns Hopkins University. He is active in the American Society for Information Science and Technology and the Association of Independent Information Professionals.

Keith Martin

Keith Martin has been a research librarian at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Research Library since 2001. He is the library's liaison to NIST's Physics and Information Technology Laboratories, and to the Technology Innovation Program.
