Peggy Garvin founded and runs her own firm, Garvin Information Consulting. She writes, trains, and consults on the topic of U.S. government information resources and policy.

Peggy is the editor of a forthcoming book from Ashgate Publishing: Government Information Management in the 21st Century: International Perspectives. She also writes the Government Online column for Searcher magazine and contributes to Online magazine.

Peggy got her MLS from the Syracuse University School of Information Studies and spent the largest part of her non-independent career working for the Library of Congress Congressional Research Service. She has trained Members of Congress, public policy specialists, lobbyists, librarians, and others on finding the information they need to do their jobs.

Peggy received the 2011 SLA Dow Jones Leadership Award, which honors an SLA member who has led others by exemplifying professional and personal competencies.
